You have _millions_ of topics you could write about. Though you might feel like you have no idea what to write about. 
You might also have no idea how to _choose _what to write about, given the number of topics you could pursue. 
This session will help you **generate many ideas**, and then **select a narrow, well-scoped topic** to focus on. 
By the end of this session, you will have a clear headline that includes the who, what and why of your blog post. The theme for this Writing Intensive is **"What I learned during the AI safety course"**.

_As you've seen from the resources, writing has many benefits! Take some time to reflect on what you hope to achieve during this course. Your responses to these questions will serve as your compass throughout the next five days, helping you make the most of your time on the course._
_Consider:_
- What draws you to writing at this moment in your life? 
- What would make this intensive feel truly successful for you? Think beyond just writing output—consider what growth or discoveries would feel meaningful.
- Imagine we're at the end of the course, and you did not succeed in publishing your piece. Why do you think that might be? What could you do to prevent this?


Clarifying your why and intended audience

You might also find some of the prompts [here](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1whlVlLJwL7A33W-9cpmux81aY6FGo0dcz_EdN0uiYMo/copy) helpful.
Generate more than 20 ideas. They should be scrappy and half-baked.


Brainstorming ideas

Come to the session with **5-10 ideas** you feel most compelled by and energised to write about. 
Of the ideas you've come up with, consider:
- How much additional research must you do before you can start writing? 
    - If you need more than a couple of hours, you might consider tabling it.
- How excited are you about this idea?
- Why would your past self who was doing the course read this?
- How does this idea serve your goals for joining this writing intensive?
Remember, the goal is to _publish_ an article ~1000-2000 words by the end of the week, so pick a feasible idea. 
During the session, you'll share this and get feedback.
