What this is for
We've had hundreds of advising calls, where we've helped people:
- Prioritise the AI safety work that fits their specific skills and background

Our advisees have typically done a BlueDot course (or have equivalent context) and have ideas for how they could contribute to AI safety, but struggle to figure out where to focus. These calls help to clarify their next steps so they can make an impactful contribution as soon as possible.
Who we can help
- BlueDot graduate: You know the landscape, and you've laid out your options through your action plan and 1-pager. The hard part now is committing to one direction and making real progress.
- Pivoting your career: You're making big moves to contribute your personal and professional experience to AI safety. You've left your current job (or are planning to), gone on sabbatical or are applying to roles or programs. You need help figuring out what the transition looks like for someone with your background.
- Finding your fit: You've completed fellowships, run reading groups and published your thinking on AI safety. You're looking for where you can make an impactful contribution given your background, and how you can get there.
What to expect
When you apply, you'll share with us the options you're considering and what you've done so far to make progress.
During the call, we will dig deeper on what you've done, what you're considering and where you're stuck. We aim to help you to clarify how you can contribute to AI safety.
By the end of the call, you'll walk away with:
- An honest assessment of whether we're the right fit right now
- Recommendations for jobs, resources or programs that fit your current stage
If we're the right fit, you'll also leave with some combination of:
- Intros to specific people, orgs or projects
- Exercises for you to work through to gain clarity on next steps
- A scheduled follow-up call in 1-2 weeks
