## **Who is BlueDot Impact?**
We're a nonprofit startup **building the workforce that protects humanity**.

Since 2022, we've trained around 10,000 people in AI safety and biosecurity. Our alumni work at Anthropic, DeepMind, the UK AI Safety Institute, and dozens of other organisations shaping how transformative technologies affect the world.

We raised $25M in 2025, bringing our total funding raised to $34M. We are a team of 10 based in downtown San Francisco.
## **Why this role matters**
Some of the most talented people in the world want to work on AI safety but can't make the leap. They're stuck in a job that pays the bills, without the runway to upskill, build a track record, or land the right role.

Our[ Career Transition Grants](https://bluedot.org/programs/career-transition-grant) remove that blocker. We fund people to commit full-time to making the transition, and we help them succeed once they do.

Since we launched the program in May 2026, we’ve given out over $2.5 million in grants to 40+ grantees. By the end of 2027, we expect to award $30M+ per year at a rate of 40+ grants per month.

We're looking for someone to own this program, attract the best people in the world to apply, support grantees into impactful work, and scale this to $30M/yr and beyond.

You'll report to and work closely with Li-Lian Ang.
## **What you'll do**
**Design the support for grantees to do impactful AI safety work**
- Own the outcome: 70% of grantees doing impactful AI safety work full-time before their grant ends
- Work out grantees’ needs, and design support that delivers it at scale: regular check-ins, 1-1s, intros to people, mentors, events.

**Grow a pipeline of exceptional applicants**
- Make BlueDot an attractive place for the best people to come for funding, by building the programme's reputation.
- Source proactively from BlueDot’s alumni and other fellowships and talent programmes

**Fund the right people, fast**
- You design the system for course specialists to evaluate grants, so the team holds a high, well-calibrated bar for exceptional talent.
- Make 90% decisions within 14 days of applying, so applicants can start solving problems fast

## **About you**
We're looking for someone with taste for talent and the drive to run a fast, high-quality program.

**Who you are:**
- **Have taste for impactful work. **You understand the field well enough to design programs that meet grantees’ needs.
- **Take ownership.** You own the outcomes and decide what to do yourself versus delegate. You move fast and keep quality high.
- **Have taste for talent.** You can quickly and accurately tell who is genuinely exceptional, and who only looks good on paper.
- **Build relationships easily.** Grantees and people in the field trust you, open up to you, and act on your steer. You're a natural connector.
- **Know when you're out of your depth.** You have the judgement to bring in the right expert rather than bluff, and the humility to do it.
- **Care deeply about the mission.** You understand why AI safety matters, and you're motivated to get the best people working on it full-time.

You might be a fellowship or program lead, a community builder, grantmaker or someone who's done partnerships or talent work in a competitive field.

We encourage speculative applications — most strong candidates won't meet all these criteria!
