Am I the right fit for BlueDot’s courses?
At BlueDot Impact, we've supported over 2,000 people to learn about and contribute to AI safety and pandemic preparedness through our courses. We've designed these courses for driven individuals determined to make a real difference. If you're wondering whether you're one of them, here are 3 questions you can ask yourself:
Do I care about making a positive impact in the world?
Our courses are tailored for those who recognise the potential risks of emerging technologies and are motivated to take action to ensure they are used to benefit humanity positively. This course is for you if you:
- Care deeply about the future of humanity
- Are motivated to use your knowledge and skills to make a difference
- Are willing to take a leap towards making an impact (e.g. starting an organisation, changing careers)
Am I willing to commit ≥5 hours per week towards having a positive impact?
Our courses run in two phases:
- Learning phase: 8 weeks, where you will spend 2-3 hours completing curated readings and exercises in preparation for a 2-hour structured discussion led by an expert facilitator.
- Project sprint: 4 weeks, where you will apply your knowledge and skills towards making an impact. You will have weekly check-ins with your cohort and spend most of your time working on the project.
Both phases require consistent effort towards understanding the materials and positively contributing to discussions with the rest of your cohort. You will get as much as you put in.
If you aren't able to commit at least 5 hours per week to the course, we would discourage you from applying to the course. Instead, we invite you to consider how you are currently spending your time and evaluate if this course might be something you might want to consider prioritising.
Am I excited to break new ground in a field where no one knows the answers?

Our courses are focused on empowering and equipping you with the knowledge, skills, and opportunities to break new ground in the field so that you'll make novel discoveries and find yourself leading particular interventions.
